Hinterland roads after eleven at night

Book a venue this far inland and the transport question arrives with it. Sunshine Coast Airport is 20 kilometres away. A coach has to be booked and paid for well ahead, and without one somebody in your wedding party gets nominated as a driver on the single night they should not be.

Beds on site take that problem off the list for the people closest to you. The rest of your guests still need a plan, and we will help you build one, but the difference between everybody leaving and some people staying is the difference between an ending and an evening.

Getting ready where you slept

You wake up on the property. Hair and makeup happen in a cottage rather than in a hotel room forty minutes away, and nobody is watching a clock or a map. The photographer gets a deck and a paddock instead of a carpark.

The morning after is the part couples say they remember and never planned. Full kitchens in the cottages, a deck, and whoever is still around. It is the only unhurried hour in the whole weekend.

Cottages named after cattle runs

Four runs were held from this head station in 1856. Three of those names are still here, and they are what the cottages are called. Each has two bedrooms, timber decks and full kitchen facilities, set among eucalyptus and Moreton Bay Figs with the pasture starting where the lawn stops.

And the barn is a walk away

The Dairy Barn is the reception room, with windows onto pasture down one side and a light canopy under the roof. Capacity depends on the layout you choose, so the numbers live on the weddings page in a table with each layout named, rather than as one figure in a headline.

Nights in the cottages can also be booked without an event on the property, which is worth knowing if you want to see the place properly before you commit. That is covered on the stay pages.
